Program Description

The Music program provides a challenging, rewarding undergraduate musical education for students at every level of preparation and talent. At MIT it is possible to major, double major, minor or concentrate in Music. Academic credit can be obtained in the fields of Performance, Theory/Composition, Music History/Literature and World Music.

World Music offerings include topical courses and African, Indonesian and Indian performing ensembles, including: 

Gamelan Galak Tika , MIT's Balinese gamelan ensemble 

Rambax, MIT's Sengalese drumming group
